pavillion
The pavillion
is definitely not the most important on the strip. The walls are.
By that, the pavillion is between the walls and also cutted by a wall.
The most important rule of the pavillion is the sequence of the spaces, and experiencing the light.
sequence
In the section below, you can see the sequence of spaces. The entrance of the pavillion is on the left of the yellow wall. From there you can enter the library (going up on the ramp), the exhibition (going down on the ramp), the cafe (through the yellow wall), or to the toilets and the seminar-room (following the yellow wall downstairs).
The normal route is going down to the exhibiton. The lights from the ceiling, and the slight ramp, attract you to go there. From there you can even go further down the earth by another ramp. Then you 'enter' the second exhibition. There is also a nice light from above. Even further down you will find the toilets and the yellow wall will guide you back to the entrance.
lights
There is a very important role for light in the design. The cafe is a real pavillion of glass, were you can look around and see Dammerstock.
In the library, the windows are 2.2 mtr. above street-level, this is because you don't get disturbed by passing cars and pedestrians.
The lights in the exhibition are all indirect lights. This is because we don't want large differences in luminicity.
